Customer Report, Agromec Smeeni – Swifter SO

We have quite a history in agriculture. We have started working the soil more than 20 years ago. At the beginning it was a hard challenge, but as time passed, we have developed a lot. In 2002 we bought a new tractor for our farm, and later on, in 2008, with the help of the FEADR projects, we have continued to invest in machines. For the moment, we work around 1500 ha, in Buzau county.

The seedbed preparation is a crucial point in each campaign. In the past, we used to work with the disc harrow and a light seedbed cultivator. As we needed to be more competitive and more efficient, we have decided to buy a machine that could help us save money and that is able to prepare a top quality seedbed. The Swifter was the machine that we have been looking for. We have selected the 5 m working width machine, the SO 5000.

The Swifter does an excellent job. We are very pleased with the way the machine levels the field and how it prepares the seedbed. The big advantage of the Swifter is the fact that the moisture is retained in the soil. When we used to work with the disc harrow to prepare the field, a high amount of water was lost due to the evaporation process. Now, with Swifter we work a lot better and certainly faster. The fact that the working sections are independent boosts the working speed, giving Swifter the advantage to work in any kind of condition, directly after the ploughing. The field is prepared in one pass, at an average consumption of 7l/ha.
