Bednar started its demo tour in the French region of Brittany with its Swifter SO seedbed cultivator. The Swifter was demonstrated for potato and corn growers. In order to get a satisfactory returnout of these crops, farmers have to perform around 5 or 6 operations to create the required quality of seedbed. Bednar’s target was to significantly reduce the number of passes, fuel consumption, working time and create the perfect seedbed across the entire working width of the machine for uniform growth of the subsequently planted seeds.

The Swifter SO 5000 encounters harsh conditions.

Bednar encountered some very difficult conditions. The soil was wet and heavy and was full of small granite blocks. Ronald Kraus and Vaclav Homola, the two technicians from Czech Republic, trained the dealer’s technicians and showed them and their customers just how easy it is to adjust the Swifter machine.

The Swifter showed its potential in tough conditions

Overall the French farmers were very satisfied with the results despite the difficult conditions faced regarding both cultivation or after ploughing field. The flow of material which passed through the machine was surprising and at 10 - 12 km / h the work rate was impressive.

A seedbed created in just one pass.

"I was very surprised that results like these could be achieved in just 1 pass and in such tough conditions as well. I especially like the working sections with two rows of shares. This set up did a great job,“ says M Odic.
