Oh, boy...  It was really busy month for Agritech team in Latvia.  It all started on July 12 in Vilani and ended on July 25 in Jaunpils.  Three events, lot of customers, lots of interest in Strom machines, hours of demonstration, public and individual ones. It was busy... but good days!

Rural Vilani days

SIA “Latgales lauksaimniecības zinātnes centrs (Latgales agricultural science center)” organizes field days every year already more than decade.  Hundreds of local farmers come to see test plots of different crops and varieties, to discuss with scientists cropping technics and, of course, to see farm machinery in action.  Strom was represented with Terraland TN 3000D H9R and Mulcher MZ 4500.  As deep tillage is quite a novelty still in Latvia Terraland was drawing a lot of attention.  But mulcher could not complain too: there was no chance for demonstration at site, so two farmers agreed for individual ones right after the event.  Results?  Nothing new - machine did an excellent job as always.

Tillage machines are waiting for their turn to finish the job after combines  Atlas AO 5000 started first behind JCB Fastrack and did nice job, but...

"Combine - from theory to practice!"

The action continued on July 18 in Jaunpils - hundreds of kilometers away from Vilani in major cereal growing area.  "Latvian Fund for Agriculture Development" and the farm SIA "Joži" arranged combine competition attended by over 12 contesters from all the possible brands with various models as well as crowds (some say 1.500) of spectators.  Strom along with just two competitors was allowed to cultivate the stubble right after combines finished half of the field.  And who was a tillage star?  Yes, Terraland again!  Stokker Agritech salesmen were sweating while collecting contacts of all the interested customers wishing to receive more information later.  Atlas AO 5000 heavy disc cultivator performed also very well.

... It was Terraland that took the Star of the Show title.  Agronomist of SIA "Joži", the owner of the field, tried to make sure that the area after Terraland is disced, but waved aside after seeing the result.  "It's perfect like this", was his only comment.  Lined up for Tillage day

SIA "Joži" again. This time tillage only, please!

Stokker Agritech returned to Jaunpils with Strom in a week - on 25 July.  This time only tillage machines were demonstrated.  Even though not a tillage machine, MZ 4500 mulcher shortened the stubble.  Terraland demonstrated exemplary deep tillage.  Atlas also collected a crowd around itself.  Not only because of excellent performance, but also because of brain teaser arranged by Stokker Agritech.  Machine was intentionally adjusted improperly and farmers had to determine what was wrong and how to correct that.  Big bottle of Stokker branded champagne was the prize.  Latvian farmers proved to be smart - champagne quickly found a new owner.
