With spring coming, a topic of seedbed preparation arises. STROM Swifter SO seedbed cultivator – a member of Swifter Concept family - is a professional and unique solution which can, apart from a quality work, bring also a significant drop in investment costs (up to 34 percent) owing to the unique system of exchangeable sections. By purchasing a disc cultivating section, you can in a very short time change the cultivator to a disc cultivator of short conception and broaden its utilization throughout a year. If you are interested in experience of users, follow regular coverage on our website.

“We were choosing from three brands and I can frankly say that after first pass with a  Swifter,  the decision was clear,” describes Ivan Laichman Chief Taurus of mechanization Mr. Ivan Laichman (from the right) and machinery operator Petr Čihák (from the left) relish Swifter.

“Taurus Protivanov” agricultural cooperative of the Czech Republic, works on 1700 ha of soil, out of which 1046 ha is arable land. The main focus is animal production bringing approximately 60 percent of total revenues. Last year, they solved the need of seedbed cultivator, which would be able to process their difficult rocky soil in rough ground, by selection proceedings.

Excellent performance among competitors

We place a great emphasis on selecting machines and the case of cultivator has not been different. "We were selecting from three brands and I can frankly say that after the first travel of Swifter the decision was clear. We had chosen an exceptionally rough and undulatedfield and none of the competing machines managed to create such a flat area that it would be possible to sow immediately. Moreover the tracing of surfaces is uncontested in Swifter. In case of an older machine of a different brand, the difference in heights of individual sections was so big that two or more passes are necessary for fields which would be ideally prepared or the usage of cambridge rollers. This, of course, significantly increases the overall costs,” explains Ivan Laichman.

Excellent performance among competitors

A tow device in the company is a tractor of 240 horses output. The tractor literally toys with the cultivator and with a speed of 12km/h its consumption is about 5l/ha. Owing to a double suspension (individually suspended tines and suspended working sections) the work is comfortable also at high speeds. "I highly appreciate the control of the machine, many fields are divided by random game refuge and sometimes it is really difficult to manoeuvre in some parts of a field, with a Swifter in 7-metre operating width, it does not constitute a problem for a driver. It is capable of processing almost 50ha in a shift and in the majority of cases sowing is done on the very same day. With Swifter, winter can welcome us way sooner,” chief mechanization man adds with a smile.
