Demonstration in New South Wales after AgQuip

Significant interest at AgQuip in seeing the Swifter Disc XE 10 000 operate in Australian conditions, pressed FarmTech and BEDNAR to organize a demonstration at nearby Gunnendah on a local farm. The local conditions would show how the innovations from Europe would work on an Australian farm.

XE 10 000 going for the first time in the field in Australia. Expectations are high!

The set up first!

Short disc concept machinery, like Swifter Disc XE 10 000, it is very important to precisely set up at the beginning of use. The whole geometry of these machines depends on details which afterwards influence the precision of work.

Australian farming demands high quality machines, because of hard soil conditions and large areas to till. The Swifter Disc XE 10 000 was demonstrated to aproximately 20 farmers from NSW.  The quality of the tilled soil profile was on high level, first set was on 4 cm and then 8 cm. The speed for this demonstration was round 15 km/h which showed the quality of the XE 10 000.  Comments from owner of the field: “Great job, you can drive seriously fast and the whole working width of 10m Is stable, also on the sides, looks like the side wheels are good also as a weight”.

Sorghum plants are as hard as corn. Swifter XE 10 000 without any hesitation showed its best on the field.

Different soil conditions than in Europe? NO problem!

After conversations with farmers at AgQuip about the soil conditions in Australia, there were expectations as to what the BEDNAR disc harrow could do on the Australian fields. The conditions were middle hard, in black heavy soil with a bit of moisture and topped with 3 cm of dry crust. The field was with stubble after the harvest of sorghum.

The Combination of Aggressive disc, speed and a heavy rear packer left the field perfectly prepared after one pass without any sticking or blocking of the material inside the machine.

Full hydraulic operation of machine and steel ring packer. Even sticky conditions are no problem for the heavy rollers, with scrapers assist.” Aggressive disc was a good choice for the machine so  entering into the hard soil was not a problem at all,” commented Derek,  Sales manager from FarmTech Machinery.
