THE STROM-BEDNAR 2013 FIELD DAY – MISSION IMPOSSIBLE ACCOMPLISHED!
The second year of the STROM-BEDNAR Field Day took place on June 26th and is traditionally held on the fields of the ZS SLOVEC (large farm in the Czech Republic). However this year that seemed to be out of the question due to the torrential rainfall which made the life of all Central Europeans a complete misery for more than three days. Despite these extreme conditions, that did not suit the field day one iota, a friendly gathering took place in a heated tent which covered a surface of 600m² with a solid floor and a large screen with a specialized programme...
Despite these extreme conditions, that did not suit the field day one iota, a friendly gathering took place in a heated tent which covered a surface of 600m² with a solid floor and a large screen with a specialized programme that had been prepared in the event “wet” weather. Even though it seemed that people would need to reach Slovec by boat, we were pleasantly surprised that almost 700 farmers came. We owe a debt of gratitude to all of those who braved the terrible conditions and the fact that you all showed up in such high numbers!
Mission Impossible Accomplished
Despite the rain showers getting heavier throughout the morning of June 26th, the tent started to fill up with first visitors and was jam packed within no time. Due to the unfavourable weather conditions the main part of the programme was shifted from the outer field to inside the tent, where the stage and large screen could be found. The farmers were officially welcomed by the owner of BEDNAR FMT s.r.o. Ladislav Bednar and his son Jan Bednar. The introduction as then followed by presentations of STROM-BEDNAR machinery and technologies from David Rycl - sales manager - accompanied by video demonstrations. In the comfort of the heated tent, visitors from all over the world enjoyed an interesting and informative programme which was topped off by good food and drink.

Specialized consulting with STROM-BEDNAR machinery
The complete portfolio of STROM-BEDNAR machinery was on display on the hard floor at the heart of the ZS Slovec farm premises throughout the entire programme - disc cultivators, seedbed cultivators, universal cultivators, chisel ploughs, rotary cutters and semi-trailers. Both newcomers from this year and a sneak preview of the newcomers for the next year – for example the three-axle semitrailer WAGON, or the innovative version of the SWIFTER cultivator with a range of 8m, which has been released in a new semi-mounted design called the SO_F (until now it had only been available in the trailed SE version) were the two that got the most attention. Our team of professionals that introduced the machinery and who have practical knowledge as well as being in daily contact with end-users were on standby to answer questions all day. The rain which seemed as though it would ever end did not discourage the farmers from coming to discuss our machinery and give us interesting incentives for new solutions. Around noon, the rain eased off and therefore we were able to conduct one large commented tour of the machinery within the programme.

Overall success in the rain
Despite the unfavourable weather conditions the STROM – BEDNAR Field Day was a great show with an excellent atmosphere and was duly praised by customers who were impressed by how we had prepared for such difficult conditions.
Finally we would like to thank all of you who braved the extreme weather to come out and see some premium czech farm machinery.
