Grass grower promotes the SWIFTER SO
Luxemburg grass growers, Van de Sluis Jacky and Conny, promoted the Bednar SWIFTER SO at their farm field day. Approximately 200 people visited this specialised field day, from over 20 countries throughout Europe. All of the interested people were farmers who are focused on grass growing in general. Sluis farm is the first partner in Luxemburg for Gruva Techniek BV (Bednar Benelux importer). The field day also introduced the V-mov 10, 5 m and 16 m large reel-mower for turf-production, which is produced in Gruva, Holland.
Sluis farm operates on 300 ha in heavy clay soil conditions. The acreage is divided into 180 ha turf grass, 95 ha grass seed production and 25 ha maize (corn-silage). The Swifter SO 5000 has been the right choice, for their precise turf farming, as the parameters and the performance are dedicated to making the perfect seedbed on top of the soil surface, even in clay soil conditions. One of the big advantages is the double crosskill rollers which can work in wet sticky conditions. Stability of machine provides great level seedbed for germination on grass land.
“We use the 5m Swifter for leveling our fields10-12cm after the stone burier we pass over with the Swifter several times (germinating of poa annua). We demonstrated the Swifter in September 2014 on our field-day in Luxemburg”, commented Mr. Slusi
Few passes with the Swifter before seeding and germination of the grass and precise grass cutting with flat rolling makes the perfect platform to produce quality turf.
